My Piccolo Mondo

About

A family-centered program in Country Club

My Piccolo Mondo is a warm, licensed group family day care focused on safety, kindness, and consistent routines that help children feel secure and confident.

Children playing together in the My Piccolo Mondo home daycare

Piccolo mondo means “little world.” That is the feeling we want when a child walks through the door on Ohm Avenue — a small, familiar place where the same caring adults greet them every morning.

We have cared for Bronx families for over 20 years. The program is bilingual in English and Italian. Children hear both languages in songs, meals, and everyday talk, the same way many Country Club households already live.

Because we are a group family day care — not a large center — groups stay small. Infants are held for bottles. Toddlers get time to try, fail, and try again. Preschoolers practice letters, numbers, and the independence they will need for kindergarten.

A note from Lucia

Call me. I answer the phone myself.

Ciao. For over twenty years this home on Ohm Avenue has been a little world for Bronx children — five to sixteen little ones, myself and three other people, English and Italian at the table.

If you are looking for care, don’t send a form. Call or text (914) 755-2107. Tell me your child’s age and what you need. We’ll see if we have a spot, then you come see the room.

— Lucia

The people

Who is in the room

Lucia is here every day with three other people. The group fluctuates between five and sixteen children, depending on who is enrolled and who is in that week. It is still a home — never a big-center crowd.

Safe & clean

A tidy, supervised home setting with clear policies, daily sanitizing, and consistent adult eyes on every child.

Warm & nurturing

Children are held, comforted, and known by name. We never use cry-it-out, yelling, or shame.

Learning through play

Art, music, outdoor time, and hands-on toys build language, motor skills, and confidence the natural way.

Family partnership

Respectful daily updates, an open door for visits, and bilingual English / Italian conversation with families.
